I.C.U. had the chance to talk to Joshua Plack about his new comic project - How To Die - Now funding on Indiegogo
What was the inspiration for this story?
I'm a big fan of classic Spider-Man, specifically exploring the transitory period between childhood and adulthood, what it means to go from being not responsible for yourself to being responsible for yourself and others. This is a much darker exploration of the same topic. You have characters trying to figure out this same lesson. Those that can thrive, those that don't, well a different sort of fate awaits them.
Who is the team on the book?
I am the writer/creator, Bogdan Ristea is doing the art, and Federico Corsini is handling the lettering.
How far along is production?
The first book is nearly complete with just a few pages left to draw. We'll probably be printing inside of a month.
This is not your first campaign. What would you like to see as the future for Eudaimonia Comics?
Oh, I have so many stories to tell. After this first issue of How to Die I'll be moving into production of Noirlem, a detective story set in 1920's Harlem. That's already written and will be 80 pages! At some point I'd like to do Eudaimonia #3 and I've been mapping a story out about early Chicago gangsters going to war with an aging group of Western badasses. That one is going to be a fun wild ride but I haven't started writing it yet. I'm not short on ideas and will have a lot coming up the pipeline.
